The Bureau of Engineering, Design and Construction is responsible for the design and construction of major water-related capital projects. The Bureau’s projects focus on maintaining the continued delivery of high quality drinking water and upgrading the 14 wastewater plants located throughout the City to improve water quality and comply with new rules and regulations. The opportunity in this internship is to understand the impact of technology on the way a large capital construction organization manages its information. As a part of our Enterprise Program Management Information System (ePMIS) Implementation team, the selected candidates will assist with the development and roll out of the new software-based Project Management Information System. This position requires learning an information management system and helping to develop functionality. The candidates will work with software developers, business analysts, system architects as well as construction management and engineering stakeholders for various projects. The candidates will also attend and coordinate meetings with Bureau project teams. There will be opportunities for site visits and for interviewing subject matter experts at field sites.
Preferred Skills: Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level majoring in civil/structural engineering or construction management.
