The Bureau of Customer Services (BCS) oversees the production and collection of water and sewer bills along with all the work required to maintain our citywide network of meters and meter readings. BCS serves approximately 836,000 customers and generates $3.6 billion of revenue annually.


Under direct supervision, the selected candidates will assist with the daily workload of the Various BCS Units. Responsibilities will include completing day to day operational tasks.  The selected candidate will be perform the following task: basic office filling, typing general correspondence, copying, filing, organizing, inventory, data entry and other related administrative duties. Tasks may be completed independently or alongside other staff.


Preferred Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access. Etc.) and the ability to learn and utilize in house software applications.  Excellent attention to detail.  Ability to work independently. Strong interpersonal skills.


These are paid positions.


  • Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level.
  • Student must have at least a 2.5GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Student must have at least a junior class standing 

 Selection Criteria:

  • Strong writing skills; effective interpersonal skills; familiarity and/or experience with computers/software; leadership skills; self-motivation; and ability to work well with minimal supervision.
