Facilities Management and Construction is responsible for the management of DEP facilities support services including  long and short term facilities management  and planning, space management, facility capital project management, facility repairs and alterations utilizing in-house staff and/or contract services, environmental health and safety (EHS) Emergency Action Plan (EAP) facility training, ATF site survey inspections, calculations, diagram drawings, specification reviews/interpretations and report writing. 


The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing,  monitoring and evaluating existing technical information in files; evaluating and researching  specific problematic information related to environmental health and safety concerns,  metric reporting, record keeping and filing records.  Other responsibilities may include data entry, correspondence with vendors, calculating cost estimates and related tasks.   


This is a paid position.  


  • Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level ajoring in Environmental Health and Safety; Environmental Science; Business Administration Organization or a related field and must have at least a Student must have at least a 2.5GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Student must have at least a junior class standing 


Selection Criteria:

  • Strong writing skills; effective interpersonal skills; familiarity and/or experience with computers/software; leadership skills; self-motivation; and ability to work well with minimal supervision.
