The New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) Application Development Unit is responsible for highly technical and supervisory activities in the design, implementation enhancement, maintenance, and analysis of software systems and the development of applications programming.  


The selected candidate will be assisting with the development of web and mobile applications. The selected candidate should also have a working knowledge of one or more of the following: .NET, HTML, and C# . Additional responsibilities will include assisting with documentation for existing applications, reviewing application code, and creating reports.


This is a paid position.


  • Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level majoring in computer science and have taken software development and te SDLC. 
  • Student must have at least a 2.5GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Student must have at least a junior class standing 

 Selection Criteria:

  • Strong writing skills; effective interpersonal skills; familiarity and/or experience with computers/software; leadership skills; self-motivation; and ability to work well with minimal supervision. Effective interpersonal skills - Research capabilities - Familiarity and/or experience with computers/software
