Overview

The Office of Information Technology is responsible for fulfilling all the information technology needs of the agency and for supporting, organization, computing and telecommunication network operations, policies  and procedures.  The Desktop Support Unit works within a team environment to provide customer support, and is also responsible for supporting personal computers, peripheral equipment, networks, communications equipment, and providing support for users' software and hardware needs. 

 

The selected candidate, under direction supervision, will perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and installation activities such as assembling and installing new computer equipment or units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols. The intern will assist with user support, backups, and maintenance of documentation.  

 

This is a paid position.

Qualifications

  • Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level majoring in a appropriate field of study. 
  • Student must have at least a 2.5GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Student must have at least a junior class standing 

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Strong writing skills; effective interpersonal skills; familiarity and/or experience with computers/software; leadership skills; self-motivation; and ability to work well with minimal supervision.
