The Bureau of Environmental Planning and Analysis (BEPA) is seeking to hire Intern for their Stormwater Management Program. As required by the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) (effective August 1, 2015), the City must manage urban sources of stormwater runoff to protect overall water quality and improve water quality in impaired waters.
The initial focus for the Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) is to provide a Plan to the State, which includes a comprehensive and integrated planning approach for a host of interrelated programs and requirements (e.g., Enforcement Response Plan, Legal Authority, Public Education and Outreach, Mapping, Monitoring, etc.). Once the Plan is submitted on August 1, 2018, it must be approved by the State before full implementation occurs. Thus, the need to have a good base for pulling everything together in teamwork fashion. The Unit is searching for an intern that will be able to assist with our Coordination efforts to get that Plan submitted to the State on August 1, 2018.
The intern would assist with the following tasks. 1) Basic research, compilation and organization of data 2) Simple tasks as it relates to a specific SWMP Program, as needed 3) Assistance with the coordination of meetings and supplemental tasks 4) Assist with the tabulation of the data and contract tracking 5) Shadowing various technical lead leadership to gain insight into various operations as we continue to develop/implement the requirement of the MS4 Permit.
