The Bureau of Water and Sewer Operations (WSO) is responsible for the operation, maintenance and protection of the City's drinking water and wastewater collection (sewer) systems, the protection of adjacent waterways, and the development and protection of the Department's Capital Water and Sewer Design Program.  The selected candidate will work within WSO Enforcement Unit and will perform work associated with the assessment of premise status and compliance level, the transfer of information from physical documents onto digital forms, research of property information through use of specific Internet websites, assist in research and evidence procurement of Environmental Control Board hearings, and assist in the management of correspondence between the Enforcement Unit and outside entities.  The individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and have a strong attention to detail.


This is a paid position.


  • Student must currently be enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level majoring in appropriate major.
  • Student must have at least a 2.5GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Student must have at least a sophomore class standing.

  • Strong writing skills; research capabilities; ability to handle repetitive types of documents; effective interpersonal skills; familiarity and/or experience with computers/software; leadership skills; self-motivation; and ability to work well with minimal supervision.
